Solid-State Drives (SSD)

I'm trying to update the FW from 1571 to 1819 on a Dell Inspirion E1705, with an ICH7-M controller.  I get the errors in the subject of this message when I run the update.  Anyone know of a workaround (besides using another computer to run the update)?

Crucial, any fixes planned on the FW side?

My first thought was that you need to change from AHCI to IDE but from a google it seems that computer doesn't even support AHCI so presumably it's in IDE mode permanently.  I realise this doesn't greatly help you but it rules something out anyway.
