Has anyine had experience of failure in these drives?
The first one I ordered lasted for about 4 weeks with Windows 7 (running like a dream). Defrag etc. disabled, installed from Windows 7 disc from scratch. Then suddenly flashed Blue Screen and then blank. Restart laptop and no Disk found by Bios! This is on a Dell Precision M4300.
I had a second one installed on another laptop for 1 week before it failed over a weekend. Came in on Monday and no boot disk! This was on a Dell Precision M4400.
I am in receipt of a replacement for the one which failed in a week but an worried as to its reliability. I think I will return the second one for credit.
I replaced the original drives in each laptop and they are working fine so I know it is not the laptops.
Anybody have similar issues?
Have I missed a trick?

They have had problems with the 1711 firmware which had been bricking drives under Win 7. There has just been a fix released for it (new firmware). I'd check what firmware you have.
Also, have a search through the forums here for the firmware issues (they're the ones that have the most posts.
